Guild has been Updated!

Posted by barbariansguildscrolls at 08:05 PM on September 17, 2007 Comments comments (0)
Greetings Barbarians -

Today our guild update has gone in. You will notice many differences and changes to the guild.

As you all know, we have Giant Bone, Demon Bone, and Mithril Bone availiable to us to forge for our weapons and armor. There is now a different way to attain these pieces of bone for forging. If you are seeking to forge any of these types, please seek out a Clan Teacher or GO and they will be able to set you on the right track of being able to get these pieces of bone from the caretakers looking over them. Do note that you will need to be a certain guild level to be able to undertaking forging with these pieces of bone.

Before we had a training area were monsters would be released and challenge your skills. The monster trainers were told to execute their charges, so if you seek honor and glory now you will need to find monsters outside of the guild. However, their is word that the stable master has been having some problems with the polar bears. Tread carefully if you wish to go visit him.

There has also been changes done to the forging system within our guild. So the ways you were trying to forge somethings before could have changed. Do remember that you will have to figure out the forging on your own.

There has also been a few cosmetic changes, and that's about all. If you find any typos in rooms or descriptions, and the like. Or find anything you feel could possibly be wrong, please send an e-mail to myself, Krisinalla, and Keira. You can find our e-mail information in gnotices.

So that's about all I have on our guild update. Hope you all enjoy. It may take sometime for me to be back in the lands, having some technical difficulties on my end, and hope to be back in really soon. If anyone needs to get in touch with me, I can be reached by e-mail.

Current Rank Standings

Posted by barbariansguildscrolls at 03:00 PM on September 13, 2007 Comments comments (0)
Greetings Barbarians,

As you all are aware, I am sure, we do have ranks that members can seek out and attain if they so desire. These ranks give access to things in the guild, that members who have not gone through these ranks are unable to get. Here is a list of the current rankings as they stand. If I have missed anyone, please let me know (or post in this message), so I can put you in the appropriate place.

Here is what I have listed;

High Clansman

Domus
Satyana
Nyssa

Ancestor's Legacy

Krisinalla

Demon Slayer

None

Dragon Slayer

None

Giant Slayer

Ysolde

Troll Slayer

Attila
Tarant
Raay

For any who have attained the High Clansman rank in the old rank progression, it will be honored on a case by case basis.  This is because the way of rank progression has changed drastically, especially with how one attains the High Clansman rank.  Please discuss this with myself or Krisinalla.

State of the Guild

Greetings Barbarians,

As you already know I have approached the Warrior's Guild and their Leader Alcestis about mending our past and becoming friends.  This has been a great success and plans for future events and the like are in the works.   Don't hesitate to approach any warrior and hunt with them, drink with them, feast with them, or whatever comes to mind.  Embrace the friendship between our guilds and make it work for you!

As time has progressed, Alcestis and I have both felt something  is coming, and we wish to be prepared for whatever dark times are ahead.  I don't like surprises, but if I'm going to be surprised with something, I like to be prepared.  With much discussion, Alcestis and I felt that branching out and extending an arm of friendship to the Ranger's guild will indeed be beneficial to us all.  I have talked to the Ranger's guild and their Leader Sylvanna.  Sylvanna and I have been old friends for sometime, generally our friendship never really needed to be spoken.  But in these times, I feel that it was necessary to make intentions known.

I addressed my feelings with Lady Sylvanna, and we have come to an agreement of friendship between our three guilds.  Let it be known that the Barbarian's, Warrior's, and Ranger's share no ill between each other.  It is within these times that friends will be needed most.  Embrace the friendship between our three guilds, nourish it and bask in the glory and honor it will bring us all.

If there are any questions about these recent events, do not hesitate to bring them forth to myself, or Krisinalla.

Hunt well Barbarians!  Glory and honor to our Ancestors! HUR!

Board Event Over!

Congratulations to Tarant for winning the Board Event!  As he was the only one who entered, never the less he had a good story to share with the clan.  For those that missed it, here it is in its entirety:

The young bull's temper and rages were such that he was perceived as a danger to the rest of the herd and thus driven away. He traveled north towards the mountains alone for many weeks, surviving on whatever grasses and herbs he could find. At the base of a steep mountain range, the minotaur discovered an abandoned bear's den. The cave deep enough to provide shelter from the harsh mountain weather. The solitude and brooding worsened his temper, although he was able to trade with a nearby clan of north men for most of what he needed to survive. The minotaur also knew other humans watched him. He could smell them from thier hiding places in the trees or among the rocks. He didn't care. Let them watch him. They could freeze there, so long as they left him alone...

(AS TOLD MONTHS LATER BY AN ELDER WOMAN OF A TRIBE NOW SCATTERED OR DEAD)

"Many times the beast gave meat to our enemies. Somtimes the pelts too, but always the meat.." the hag muttered. Her voice rose a bit as she looked up "Our enemies were growing stronger! They no longer felt the bite of the wind or the sting of the cold as we did!" Staring into the fire again her voice returned to the whisper of dry leaves "We were foolish.. we thought that if we stopped It, our enemies would grow weak again. We could defeat them once and for all. That their hunting grounds would be ours. Our tribe would grow strong..."

"The fact that It didn't eat meat was clear, but It must have needed other things..." the old woman mused. "Trading with It never occurred to us.. that it might be willing if we but asked..?" Those assembled began lookng around at each other in bewilderment as her whispers and mutterings turned incoherent. Thinking the hag was about to topple into the fire as she appeared to slumber in her seat, a hand started forward to steady her but jerked quickly back as several people gasped when she suddenly sprang to life again. "Twenty of our strongest and best hunters went out to defeat the beast!" she exclaimed, now on her feet. Slumping once again to rest on the end of the bench, her voice took on a reedy tone as she started to cry softly "one... returned.."

(OUR STORY RESUMES AS THE HUNTER RETURNED TELLS HIS TALE)

The wild eyed, terrified hunter tried to steady his shaky voice as his wounds were tended and he tried to warm himself near the fire...

"It.. It let me go! I thought It was going to eat me..! The eyes were so full of rage...! He.. It grabbed me and threw me across the clearing! It roared at me.. and screamed to tell the others.. Tell them all to leave It alone! I ran.. I ran through all the pieces.. All the bodies!" Breaking down, the man sobbed into his blankets.

Later, the carnage was found. Body parts were strewn everywhere. The carrion birds and other scavengers had fed well. Only a few of the hunters could be recognized. Some by their faces. Others.. only by guessing at the scars from battles past they were known to carry.

Word spread quickly and again Tarant was driven from his home. The north men he had been trading with, now shunned him. They told him it was bad to have him near them anymore. He would bring the wrath of their gods.

Again, weeks later, the brooding minotaur had found himself in a new place. The first time in a city, Frostfall quickly became interesting. The buildings and other sights were quite different from the open grazing or even the caves Tarant was used to. Trading his last pelt for a meal of oats and sweetmilk, it didn't take long for him to be directed where one of his size and nature could find a place to rest. The Barbarian's Guild has been a place where he could fit in and call home ever since.

Congratulations again Tarant, poke me for your prize.

The guild forums are currently disabled.  Once I get paid on Friday that will change.  Once they are up, the forums on this site will be used for General Announcements, the planning of guild events, event ideas, etc, as well as just general chit chat.

If you guys have any other suggestions for their uses, let me know.

I've also got it currently set up that you do not have to be a member to reply to announcements on the front page, so don't hesitate  to reply if you want to.
